07/09/2024 - Shea M.
Every new food truck that rolls into town catches my eye, and I just have to give it a try. The crew may have been a bit startled by my enthusiasm, but they were a welcoming and understanding bunch. I ordered the BBQ Brisket sandwich combo with cabbage and mac&cheese sides for around $10. The brisket was a bit dry, but the homemade sauce had a fantastic tangy sweetness with a bit of a kick - I'm already thinking about trying it on their ribs next time. The mac&cheese had a good cheddar flavor, though the noodles were a bit mushy and the cheese seemed clumped rather than creamy. The real star of the plate was the cabbage, cooked in a magical blend of spices with a serious peppery kick that elevated every bite. I couldn't resist finishing it, and based on that alone, I'll definitely be back. The menu also features BBQ chopped chicken and applewood-smoked BBQ ribs that caught my eye, along with Pastelillos for future visits.
