It was my birthday so we decided to get some take out. Great Canadian food! Today I tried the Hungry Bear Poutine and the Hungry Bear Burger with their curly fries... and ate it all up. The curly fries have a hint of seasoning and the dry crisp that I love munching on with their gravy. Dry pork bites are good too. This restaurant serves Canadians quite well, lol
P.S. If it's actually your birthday, you might even be treated with a free piece of cake, and if your with friends, they will sing you happy birthday ; ) That's what they did for me. Thanks Hungry Bear!

Spent a week in the area and had a good meal here every other day.Chicken strips were the best i ever had. The veal cutlets were very good and filling also.

Been there twice hoping the first time was a one off but it wasn't. The potions are very small for the very high price and poor quality and left hungry again ,we will not be going back every again. Was very disappointed

Went for lunch March 29 2023 , most impressed. New owners from when we were here a couple of years ago.
They have done renovations and it is clean and bright now.
We had a chicken quesadilla which was loaded with and very good. Friends had the samosas and spring rolls which were also delicious!
Would not hesitate to recommend.

We have been coming through here for the past 10 years and for about 3 years now we have noticed a decline in the food quality.
We used to order the chef salad, which was huge and gorgeous, but all the dishes we tried so far are only fare, compared to just a few years ago. Maybe it under new management I have heard.
Clancy's down the road a ways used to be real good truck stop eats. Now under new management we hope this one will be as great as before.

My husband & I have always enjoyed eating at the Hungry Bear Diner and are looking forward to doing so again now that it has re-opened. We were there a few weeks ago & the food was great !

They have a prime rib buffet on Saturday and a turkey buffet on Sunday.Very good food with a full range of side dishes.His battered mushrooms are my personal favorite.Very hearty portions available on their regular menu . well worth the stop as many truckers will tell you.
