Alie Hanos has been closed for many years. It was one of those places you remember while growing up. Some would say that it was a dump when we were kids, but as we got older it was a place that had a lot of atmosphere and character. Little Mrs. Alie Hano was manning the cooking while her daughter would sit in an out of the way spot keeping her mother company.
They had the best cheeseburgers in town back in the day and their chile dogs were excellent. I remember sitting in old wooden booths with inscriptions of names of patrons, profanities, and hearts of love carved in them. The old individual juke boxes for each booth. Indeed a landmark of Brighton Park.
Remember stopping in for an Old Dutch soda after a long day of shopping on Archer Avenue. Those were really the good old days.
