Fried fish and chicken. It's a family place, packed on Sundays. It's been here forever, as long as I remember anyway.

I do not normally write negative reviews, but here is my first attempt, On June 21st 2015 my family and I arrived at the Sandpiper Restaurant for a Father’s Day and Birthday Dinner. Earlier in the day my sister-in-law Kim (the birthday girl) had been admitted to the hospital and we were waiting for information on her condition from her husband Charles. A sign was posted that stated your entire party had to be seated together at the same time. Our 8 family members were seated together at a large table and we let our hostess know that Charles might be arriving late due to being at the hospital; the hostess pointed to 2 chairs in the corner by the bathroom and said that we could just pull a chair up when Charles arrived. The restaurant was very busy due to it being Father’s day and they appeared to be short staffed because we had to flag down our waitress each time we needed a refill on our drinks (and they will not allow you to refill your own drink at the entrance). Charles called us from the parking lot and said he was going to come in and eat with the family. When my husband went to bring Charles inside he was refused entry, they stated that he could not sit with our family at our table and that he would have to stand in line and wait to be seated at his own table. My husband asked to speak to the manager, and not only the Manger, but his wife and another employee were rude and dismissive to my husband, which in turn upset my husband. He tried to ask for an exception to the rule, since Charles had just left the hospital, had not eaten yet, we were not done with our meals and he just wanted to update our family on his wife’s condition and it was Father’s day after all. They still refused to admit Charles, said he had to wait behind 6 other families and that they would not be able to seat him at our table even once he made it to the front of the line. My husband and the owner had some choice words and then told us that they wanted us to leave, and that they were calling the police. We did not finish our meal, we simply left. I understand the need for rules, I know that it holds up other patrons if a party sits down and everyone is not there, then the table is occupied longer than usual, all I am saying is that if you are looking for a compassionate, family owned, “love thy neighbor as thy self “service, this restaurant is not the place to eat. Our family owns and runs 3 successful businesses in Fayetteville and we would never treat anyone the way we were treated, we choose to spend our money and dine at your restaurant which we have done for years. Now that we see the type of people who run this establishment, we will take our business elsewhere.
