I have been keeping my boat at Blowing Rocks 3-4 times a year for the past 3 years on our trips to Jupiter. The docking situation has never been great, they do not keep track of their slips so they oversell their marina and don’t keep record of overnight paid for spots vs day parking for lunch and the bar. This leads to issues finding a spot you paid for every night coming back. Each time I have stayed, we have had a countless amount of issues with Chris Howell (the miserable, rude dockmaster) Whether it’s a smart remark or blatantly ignoring you, this is the normal at Blowing Rocks. On Saturday morning 08/12/23, I came to take my boat out and saw my boat had been moved. I went to ask Chris why my boat was moved and why was it in this certain spot (as I was yelled at for parking there last time even though there are no signs saying do not park). He said he was going to take it out of the water, accusing me of not paying. Without checking the books, this jerk was going to take my boat out of the water saying I didn’t pay. He did not care to see my receipt or acknowledge once he was in the wrong for touching my boat. He even tried to say that “people pay more to have their boats taken out” like it was a funny joke and he was doing me a favor. He made a snarky comment to another customer and then said he will make sure I do not come back and will “tow my truck if I don’t leave right now” I called the manager (Maureen Stone) and explained the situation. She simply said she’s heard about issues with Chris Howell before and all she can say is she’s sorry. No offer to make this right or to give them another shot. Do not waste your time staying at this shack unless you want a banged up boat and a bunch of rude staff members.
