I've been to a lot of different Japanese steakhouses across the nation and this one takes the cake! We should have walked out when we first saw on the menu that we were going to be charged an 18% gratuity for a group of 4! I understand them doing that for a party of more than six, but four? Really? It get's better though. The chef came out and barely spoke to us and barely acknowledged that it was my daughter's birthday. He had no showmanship which is usually part of the appeal of a Japanese steakhouse. He just cooked. What really galled me was that we noticed that part of the food he was cooking for the four of us was going to side on a fifth plate. The waiter then picked it up and said to the cook, you want to eat this in the back?
Are you kidding? Did I just pay for the chef's dinner on top of paying for an overpriced meal that hardly had any meat or vegetables. I think I ate more soy sauce and teriyaki sauce than anything else!
