My first experience at Peppino's was incredible, especially the Philly Steak, which was the best I've had in ages. The service was efficient and friendly, making it a pleasant atmosphere for family pizza night every Friday. Although the prices are a bit steep, the quality of the food, including their meat lovers pizza and Italian subs, makes it worth it-I can't wait to return!

After reading the reviews posted, I expected to enjoy dinner at Peppino's last night. I was even happier when I read that one of the pasta specials was manicotti. The last time I had manicotti was decades ago at an Italian restaurant in New Jersey. That dish consisted of freshly rolled pasta, delicious cheese filling, a zesty marinara sauce, and cheese browned on top as a result of being baked in a very hot oven.
The manicotti served to me consisted of a floury, bland marinara sauce, a dry cheese filling, and pasta that was either in leaden clumps or it had disintegrated in the sauce. I did not take leftovers home and never want to have this dish again. I think the dish was assembled long before it was put in the oven, so the uncooked pasta became soggy and the cheese filling became dry.
The salad bar was fine--nothing special but there was nothing wrong with it either. My husband's pizza was edible. There was no hint of crispness in the crust and the marinara was a little less bland than that on my manicotti. The pizaa had plenty of achovies and capers, the toppings he ordered.
We can make better pizza and pasta at home. I admit that we have been spoiled by Rosa's Pizza (on Broad St.in Atlanta) and by good pizza in Italy.
This Italian restaurant had no Italian wine--only sangria, jug wine, and beer. My husband's Italian beer was good.

I've been all over America and the world. I've eaten at Geno's East in Chicago, Patsy Grimaldi's in Brooklyn, and Da Remo in Rome. So when I tell you that Peppino's might be the best pizza I've ever had, I want you to understand me.
