Just had an excellent brunch. The Banana French Toast was delicious and the Irish Breakfast was very good. The service was among the best we've ever had in Jersey City. We live in the neighborhood but this was our first trip to O'Connell's because it never looked enticing from the outside. Now we know better.

A great addition to JC and simply wonderful food from apps to dessert and great service. Look forward to going back often for nice dinners. It is not cheap but by no means over priced! Go check it out and enjoy indoors or outside.

O'Connell's is quickly taking its place as one of Jersey City's premier restaurants. One should not expect pub-food at this Irish-named restaurant. The food excellent...well prepared, good presentation, and excellent service. I had a chicken and orzo dish that was much better than expected. Brunch is especially good and probably the best in Jersey City. It is a little pricey but the atmosphere, service, and food justify it unlike other Jersey City/Hoboken restaurants.
