The pupusas here had an incredible cheese pull that made my eyes widen with joy, though I wished the jalapeño ones packed a bit more heat or came with a spicy salsa to kick things up. The loroco con queso pupusa stole the show for me, with just the right touch of melted cheese and subtle bits of loroco, while the chicken tamales surprisingly outshined even my mom's homemade version. Sure, the wait for freshly made food tests your patience, and the restaurant's aroma isn't exactly a perfume commercial, but the authentic Salvadoran flavors and solid service keep me coming back for more.

The pupusas at Pupuseria Martinez were delicious and authentic Salvadorian fare. While I wished the jalapeño pupusas had a bit more heat, the overall experience was worth it. The service was great, and I appreciated the large portions and freshly made food.
