JR's Chicken in Kankakee offers delicious fried chicken and a variety of tasty sides. The cozy diner setting and friendly service make it a local favorite for a satisfying meal.

Chicken was very good. Way of doing business VERY POOR. I was in to get a nine piece chicken dinner which comes with 9 pieces of chicken,2 one pint sides, and dinner rolls. I asked that the person put the gravy for my mash potatos in a separate container(if you pu them together you get much gravy on the top and nothing for the rest). There policy is if you want the gravy on the side it will be counted as an extra side. This means they wanted to charge an extra 7.00 to have the gravy(which I was getting anyway with meal) just to put it in a styrofoam cup that cost probably 10 cents. This is the dumbest thing I have heard. Thank god there are other places in town to get chicken dinners,

JR's has great chicken, the best mash potatoes and gravy,and great mac salad, we have it for parties, meetings and get togethers. Good service when dining in also, but a small area.
