The drive from Chicago to Springfield is pretty uneventful with not much to see along I-55. On the way back, we decided to stop at the Gemini Giant, a towering statue outside The Launching Pad restaurant. It's a fun spot for a quick break, some photos, and maybe a snack before hitting the road again. The retro Route 66 vibes and friendly staff make it a worthwhile stop if you're looking to break up the monotony of the drive.
