During my recent visit to a restaurant in Dubuque with my grandparents, we decided to try their mushroom and Swiss burger. It turned out to be the most delicious burger I've had in the area. The service was exceptional, with friendly waitstaff and a pleasant beachy ambiance. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we plan to return in the future.

I was scared to go to this place because of previous review! However, I asked the server and she said there is a new owner! Our visit was amazing! The food was great (supposedly a brand new menu since take over) and the staff was fun and professional! Not to mention great river view and the LED lighting on deck! Feels like your in Key West, FL! Thanks and best of luck to the new owners!

The Yardarm has the potential of being a hot spot for Dubuque. It's a nice setting and was great for a Friday out with friends. Loved sitting out by the river and listening to live music. The problem was the food and the service. Our waiter had zero personality and I'm pretty sure he did not smile the entire time. He acted put out by our requests and even when I asked for ketchup and mustard he pointed to the area on the bar where I could go get it. It took over an hour after our meal to get the bill and instead of handing us a bill, he told us what we owed and just wanted us to hand him the money. The food really had no flavor. On the way out, the bouncer glared at us in a creepy way and made us nervous. There was no "thanks for stopping" or "have a good night", just a glare. I write these things not to slam the Yardarm but to encourage you to do better. Do a make over and we will be back but the service was the worse service I have ever had. Make the Yardarm a great place to get good food and enjoy yourselves, that is not what we got tonite.
