Welcome to Zeke’s Smokehouse – home of Lip smackin’ good, authentic American barbecue! Zeke’s Smokehouse opened its doors in Montrose, California in November, 2002 to impressive reviews. Offering a combined total of more than 125 years of restaurant and food industry experience, opening partners, Leonard Schwartz, Michael Rosen and Ron and Kirk Gelsinger, pooled their talents to deliver the kind of authentic barbecue dishes you’d find in Kansas City, Memphis, or Greensboro, North Carolina. And now with a second location, launched June 2004 in West Hollywood, Zeke's is able to deliver down-home barbecue to even MORE of Los Angeles. Schwartz, the former executive chef at Maple Drive restaurant in Beverly Hills and recognized master of "comfort food," and Rosen, former award-winning executive chef of the acclaimed Reign restaurant in Beverly Hills, have proven a decidedly successful team, working together to successfully launch Maple Drive—and now Zeke’s Smokehouse. Ron and Kirk Gelsinger, the respected father and son partners in the three-generation Montrose meat business, Gelsinger Meats, are the backbone of Zeke’s, providing the highest-quality meats available. These are men who know a great deal about great food. Now, they want to share their deliciously unique barbecue recipes with customers that love and appreciate quality meat. They’ve created a lot of meals and memories over the years and as a result have built a strong friendship and family tradition. With Zeke’s Smokehouse, they’ve started a new tradition.
