I'm a regular here & recently moved to Playa Del Rey. I asked if they would do a delivery although it was out of their 3 mile range. Nana immediately recognized my voice and without question took my order. Other restaurants should learn from the staff here on how to keep customers coming back over and over and over again. Excellent food and service. Thanks again!

I was at home and in bed with the flu. After calling many restaurants asking for delivery.. I never was able to meet their minimum for delivery..Finally I came across Maki Yaki, I asked them to deliver me one "shrimp tempura udon" .. They informed me that they had a minimum order for delivery ... the udon being around 7 dollars. The lady on the phone told me to hold on as she asked the delivery boy if he would deliver it, even though it doesn't meet the minimum requirement. He was kind enough to deliver the food to my doorstep. I plan on swinging by soon to order some takeout. Great Service & Thanks Again!

We order delivery 1-2x a week, they know us haha! It is absolutely amazing food, service, and prices. Our favorite menu items are the gyoza and bento boxes. Bento box comes with ur choice of meat, rice, sushi roll (california or crunch), salad, and soup...all for $10 bucks!!!! Best deal ever and especially in Santa Monica area. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

1 star?? you do know maki yaki is a chain? maybe you went to a different one? I'd have to admit i went to the maki yaki in gardena.. the sashimi was thinner than paper.. just because it's a chain doesn't mean the food or customer service are the same.

I love this place.

wow i was shocked at that last review..??? i had salmon sashimi and it was great! prices are reasonable and the cut of the fish was nice and thick. i never tried that beef so i wouldn't know, however my husband and i are planning on dining here again.

My wife just left a review below. We had dinner here last night and the quality and portions of both our dinners were great. However one downside I felt needs to be mentioned, is that they lack beer or alcoholic beverages.

Disgusting. Salmon was not fresh and smelled terrible. I had two bites and I wanted to vomit. My boyfriend's beef teriyaki looked like a stringy booger. I will never order from here again. I don't know what you people are thinking.

I ordered the green dragon roll everyday for the past 2 weeks. i can't get over it. it tastes soooo good.

I was surprised at how many people left a review about this place, so i decided to leave one as well.

The Food and Service were above excellent. I was satisfied and full.

the location isn't in the greatest of all places, as it's located in a small strip mall next to the place where i tan.

Once again.. i eat sushi quite often and i'd have to admit... the food was Great!

I was in the venice beach area with my friends from out of town. We were driving up and down lincoln blvd. trying to look for a japanese sushi restaurant that i would be able to take them to. We ended up finding maki yaki. Not knowing this restaurant was a "fast food" kind of place , we went in to eat. I noticed the menu board and thought "o man" because my friends were visiting the states from japan. I really wanted to show them some authentic sushi. Everyone being hungry, we just decided to eat at this restaurant and go drink at some pub as they dont serve sake or beer. Once we ordered the food looked amazing. I never thought we would be eating at a such a tasteful place until we started to eat without any conversation. I asked my international friends how the food was they said it was "amazing" the chef came out from behind to grab a drink and noticed my friends. He immediately greeted them and started speaking to them in japanese. I still go there today!!! So what happened to be an accident of finding this location ended up being a satisfying venture!! I Love the food! Love the Fair Prices! and the quality of the food~ Thanks for a great sushi spot!

The sushi is up to par, however the chicken is dry and stringy. Also the portions aren't so plentiful, even compared to other chain sushi restaurants.

All 10s!??? Seems a little strong for this place. I'll admit, Maki Yaki is pretty good for japanese fast food takeout, but it is a chain. There are a lot of sushi options in LA....

This is the best Japanese takeout I have ever had.
It is fast and tastes great, and the service has always been wonderful!!!
