My husband and I had dinner here a while back and it was a pleasant experience. The food was tasty, the service was excellent, and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. It's a bit on the pricey side, but the friendly staff and delicious offerings make it worth a visit.

The crab meat Augrutin was the best I have eaten.
The fried catfish was so fresh with some of the best crawfish etufuee I have ever had

This is one of the very few places around with any consistency. I always enjoy good service and good food. All businesses are experiencing worker shortage,so it is understandable if a meal takes a little longer. I have to appreciate the quality service and meals I experience at Hilltop Inn. Thanks to owners,employees and continued patronage.

We ate one of the spcials that was on the sign when you come in.The Deep Fried Rib-eye with Crawfish sauce ,was so delicious.We think it should be on regular menu all the time .We loved it,would eat it again anytime.Great meal!

We always take our out of town friends and family here last night my grandsons hamburger was so BURNT he could not even bite through the meat. We explained we were already eating and he wasn't going to wait on another burger we would just share our food. We were made to pay for the BURNT burger we sent back. I guess we will find somewhere else to take everyone.

We ate at Hill Top only once, but really enjoyed the food. Then unfortunately Hurricane Ida really tore up the restaurant. They are now open and we look forward to eating there

We have been wanting to try Hill Top for a year and a half, since moving to St. Amant; but when we did, they were closed. We were greeted by a very nice Hostess and seated behind her right where the wait staff had to pass on either side of our table. #1: Never place tables in a line of traffic or #2; Near or by restrooms. Very distracting and unpleasant. We place our order with an extremely waitress who had way to many tables and was constantly on the move, had to HAIL her down to get extra drinks, etc,; but she was very pleasant and apologetic for not catching us. Our food was delicious, Mama's AuGratin, Fried Shrimp and the spinach/artichoke dip were served hot and cooked to perfection. However, our 3rd order of the Catfish platter, we found the catfish had a spicy taste which was not announced on the menu. Maybe the cook accidently spilled Tony's on it. Also, thought the catfish pieces should have been bigger, not fingers. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we plan on going back and asking for a different table..

I have been to hilltop 2x and both times we have had wonderful service. The place is very quiet and peaceful. Will definitely go back.

The food is the BEST in the area and the ONLY reason they get 3 stars. The staff - every single one of them - are rude! Downright don't give a damn what you think! They know their food is good and people keep coming back so they don't care! It's like the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld.

The foods always awesome. The waiters and waitresses are amazing. The atmosphere cant be beat. We've ate here forever. Only had a couple of complaints. When brought to managements attention they've been extremely rude and did not care. So that's the end of this place. The employees can kill a place. Management needs to be replaced.

I know Louisiana is known for their Gumbo. This place is probably one of the best in the state. Nothing fancy just good creole food that has been cooked and simmered for hours to perfection.

Best fried shrimp anywhere! I am having Crawfish Two Step tonight, it's delicious too! Hamburgers and Onion Rings are homemade and very yummy, I've been eating at Hill Top for 30 years....always a great experience. Oh, the gumbo is delish!

Visited Hilltop on Saturday night with a group of 12 family members / Food-great / price-very reasonable / Service-EXCELLENT/ Our waiter was Travis / very attentive explained the menu/specials refilled all drinks / thanks Travis for making our family night out GREAT / we will visit again

It has been years since we have eaten at the Hilltop, but have been hearing some great reviews since new owners have taken the restaurant over.We decided to try it and after eating there I had to come home and write a review because the food was so good! We had the Diversion Platter with fried shrimp and crabmeat au gratin and we were blown away with the quality of the food. The best au gratin I have ever eaten and I've had plenty. Our waitress and service was awesome and we can't wait to go back!

Awful. Absolutely awful. Wasted $50.00. Staff non-chalant and disorganized, extremely long wait (over one hour) for food when restaurant was not even half full, then served COLD food. Overpriced -- for quantity and quality of food. Fried shrimp unseasoned - tasted like what I believe cold newspaper would taste like, and fried oysters tasted like cold corn meal, overfried and oversalted. Foolishly tipped waitress despite poor service and food, but felt sorry for her despite service. This "restaurant" has a captive audience because of its remote location. Good thing they do have this!

Food is good. Atmosphere was good. Staff was horrible! Especially the bar staff! When I complained to the "manager" it fell on deaf ears and was blown off! Also when 1/2 the restraunt is empty and we were told a 15-20 minute wait.. It was quite annoying.

We have been dining at this restaurant for years and the food is amazing. Best seafood in the area. Seafood platter will easily serve 2 adults. Great atmosphere along the river bank with the beautiful scenery. I take a senior adult down for lunches and it is well worth the drive.

We love this restaurant! The wait staff are all friendly and professional. We live about 20 miles away and have been eating at this restaurant at least once a week for the past 5-6 years. They automatically check to see if there is a fresh pot of coffee when they see us. The food is so good it's always hard to make a choice. Fried Shrimp or Catfish? Seafood gumbo and crab balls? A ribeye and baked potato on Thursday night steak night? Or maybe a juicy hamburger and fries? It's all great!! And lets now forget the deserts. There are some menu favorites and then some that are changed daily. I'd eat their Mississippi Mud every night if I could! When our family gathers at a restaurant to celebrate an event Hilltop is always our first choice. Can't say enough good things about Hilltop Inn and Restaurant.

Live in the Maurepas area and have been to this restaurant too many times to count. Have always had excellent service from the staff and extremely good food. When I happen to have a problem with food, I advise my waitress and the problem was taken care of immediately. I think a lot of the reviews are just sour grapes being aired. I have never had or witnessed any cause for such degrading review of this restaurant.

I have never never never been to a place to eat and had to wait over a hour and 45 minutes for food. Then it was cold as ice. The food didn't impress me at all. Scratch that one off the list. To many great restaurants around to waste my time there.

One of our favorite restaurants in Louisiana! We visit monthly and have always had consistently good service and food. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. Shrimp salad is my favorite! Sunday specials are just like Grandma made!

Overheard a young waitress complaining continually about having to wait on a particular table, then watched the lady at the table give her a very good tip. Wish I could have gotten to the family before they gave the tip. Someone needs to teach these waitresses to control their mouths or better yet these are the ones they might want to consider getting rid of. I know it makes a difference to me. I will not be going to this place and allowing this young lady to wait on me. I will refuse her if I should end of with her.

The atmosphere is very casual, but family oriented. The food was "fantastic." The prices were okay, a little high. Service was okay, but one waitress in particular should be removed. I will be letting the management know what I observed.

Not sure what experience the other viewers had, but mine was great. I dine in alot of Restaurant's , and this was great. Great Food, and great service.

Young, incompetent wait staff. Our waiter had dirty fingernails- YUCK!!!!!!! When we complained to manager (short brown hair, hefty) that fried food tasted "dirty, she said too bad. Other people said same thing about food. Will definitely not return!
