This was perhaps
one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Ray, the owner, and Robert, his assistant chef, were very busy in the kitchen. Gloria was the hostess and head waitress and there were two other phenomenal waitresses named Janet and Jane. They had a variety of daily specials and typical items that you would see on a New England menu. I liked the small baked stuffed chicken breast, halibut, fish cakes, an assortment of sandwiches and burgers, pies, torte cake, tapioca, vanilla, banana and bread pudding. I like Janet's Vermont accent. Both Janet and Jane had to be among the best waitresses in Maine. Gloria was in a class of her own and everyone that knew her liked her sassy and amusing comebacks. The restaurant closed but they will always be remembered.
