I ate here had steak and shrimp dinner they served it and my salad at the same time asked if i would like anouther drink but never served it then came back to ask if everything was alright told waitress i would prefer the salad before the meal she said kitchen was busy not . place was not very busy tables were dirty don't stop there

This was our first time....After having to clean our sticky table & having a debate on weather to send the badly washed silverware to the health dept. For testing.... we decided to have burgers.... the chips were good the homemade fries & slaw were even better... the service was mediocre. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked really good!!..... So, we were pleasantly surprised. The burgers were Excellent!!..... its definitely worth a try!!! 😎😎😎

$27.00 for a pitcher of beer in Northern Michigan. WTF.. Never will I return.

We eat here every year and try their new menue items. The peanut butter and egg burger was vert good. The beer and deep fried oreo's are the best.. Big Cold Local Beer is the best!!!

ate at government lake on thursday april 4, 2013.
ordered the hot turkey sandwich special for $5.99. when i got my meal it consisted of the following-stove top stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, canned green beans, instant gravy and sliced turkey roll. even by 'UP NORTH" standards the WORST MEAL i have ever had. i think the waitress was embarassed because i only took one bite of it--but she dsidn't ask if it was ok. if they can't pull off something as simple as a hot turkey sandwich i shudder to think what the other menu items are like. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD HOMEMADE FOOD SKIP GOVERNMENT LAKE.

Every year in late January about 13 friends spend a weekend fishing, skiing and enjoying northern Michigan's great outdoors along the Pere Marquette River. We always go to Government Lake Lodge on Friday night for the All You Can Eat Fish Fry. The food Beer and service is excellent.

Great food with good service. The unnamed burger is the best I have ever eaten.

Friendly and great staff, great wide variety menu and pretty good beer selection. Prices are standard-Steak, salad potato and a beer for 23 bucks.
