Fabulous! Great ambiance, great food and great service. What more can you ask for ?!?

At first it was great, the portion were great and everything was delicious. Now the portions for take out come in a very shallow tin that fell apart when I got home leaving all the food on the floor. Second when you order the while chicken dinner you don't get the whole chicken, it comes with no breast meat. The rotisory you buy from the super market feeds my family more with left over, that's a whole chicken. And after a while you get tired of the same rice and fries which it used to be a lot and now there isn't enough for my family of 4. We told them about the chicken problem a the girl ignored us and asked if they can change it up with the rice and fries and she said no. The place now us ok but so far me, my family, and friends all stopped going for those reasons. Hopefully they can go back to how they were about 1-2 years ago .

"Ironbound In South Plainfield"

I'd bet if you surveyed 100 people: Where's the best Portuguese Food in NJ? South Plainfiled isn't the first answer that comes to mind.

But I would seriously urge anyone reading this to change their thinking.

Recently rennovated, Paulo's features a warm mediterranean ambience. A dining area that can accomodate a romantic dinner for two as easily as a party of 20 or more without a hitch. A beautiful stone patio for dining Al-Fresco in the warmer months, and a nice bar area for a pre-dinner cocktail, and a must stop spot for an after dinner drink.

The menu at Paulo's has all the best Portugouse and Brazilian fair. From wood-fired Churasquieria style Chicken, Ribs and Steaks to Urban fav's like Paella, Garlic Shrimp and Tasty Chorizo. Whatever your choice, the Overly-Generous portions will satisfy even the heartiest eaters.

Family run, the Owner Paulo greets you with a charming smile. He is a good hearted soul, who always makes you feel like part of his family. Beware gents, on nights with live music he may get your lovely bride up to dance.

Personal Fav's are the Pork and Clams Alentejana, Beef Ribs, Shrimp and Chorizo in Garlic Sauce. And their Rice... well, my wife has made me drive in many a snowstorm to get take out from Paulo's just because she had a craving for their rice.

As someone who knows their way around the backstreets of the Iornbound (not just Ferry Street) I can honestly say that Paulo's is a foodie's paradise.

Get Here, Get Fed, and Be Happy.
