"Shade"
(A poem by village native, Kevin Childs)

The word Shade does have multiple meanings
From a blinder to fashion eyewear.
Let’s explore and define and then somewhat design
We’ll then write with a kind of a flair.
As a Noun are we viewing an object?
Sunglasses alight in my mind.
Many meanings appear, some from far and some near
In which way shall our bent be defined?
To a Verb we will take exploration.
When you’re shading from brightened sunlight.
Casting shadow’s about, we may let out a shout.
Though this rhyme may become kind of trite.
Use of shade may be active or passive.
It depends upon what is then meant.
An object or not, just define…take a shot.
You may find this is time that’s well spent.
As a last exploration of Shade.
On Main Street, they opened and stayed.
It’s that wonderful Deli, that ends in our belly
In our village, “Shade’s” sure made the grade.
