On October 16, 2019 I was part of a CSEA dinner meeting at the Hawkeye. My whiskey and soda was so watered down, that I questioned whether or not there was any whiskey in it at all. Rolls were placed on the table, but there was no butter. The appetizers came out after a while, and were marginal. It took forever for the salads to come out. Then, there was a long wait (close to 1/2 hour) for the main entrí©e to be served. I ordered prime rib, medium rare. When it was served it was raw. It looked like it may have just been passed over the grill. I couldn't eat it. The baked potato served with it was luke-warm, and again there was no butter or sour cream served with it. The best part were the hard, crisp asparagus. I did not stay for dessert. Extremely disappointing. I was aware that other meetings were going on, but management should have thought ahead and made arrangements for more servers. Terrible experience for such a well-known, touted restaurant.
