The restaurant is welcoming, food is great, and staff are kind - definitely worth returning to for authentic Mexican cuisine.

Just had THE WORST service from the waiter ANTONIO at the El Camino Real in Surf City. Waited WAY TOO LONG to get our order in then I ordered cheese sauce saw Antonio sitting down doing nothing. I ended up having to ask hostess. Ran out of tea and did not get a refill. Antonia did NOT come to table again food arrived. I asked at that time for more tea....never got it...he walked by our table numerous times and NEVER asked if we needed anything etc. I had to ASK HOSTESS AGAIN for tea. She tells him and he has HER bring it to me. Again we wait and wait and wait for him to come and bring us our bill and for us to ask for a togo box. He brings bill and then STANDS 2 FEET AWAY FROM TABLE WHILE I FILL OUT THE CREDIT CARD SLIP. I left $2 tip with a note saying that he needed to be more attentive and that I should NOT have had to ask hostess for help. As soon as I was done he grabbed the bill folder from me and walked away...NEVER ONCE saying 'thank you or have a nice day or come back....MY DAUGHTER SAW HIM BALL UP THE RECEIPT AND THROW IT AWAY....... hmmmmm Makes me want to go and dispute that charge on my account. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
