08/16/2007 - Service Lousy
The staff at Tiny Thai Cafe is rude and obnoxious and we will never return! Two old friends were trying to catch up and take our time with the menu (on a weeknight), but the waitress came over and told us we only had 5 minutes more and had to order. We had my well-behaved 11 month old baby and I do believe they were discriminating against the baby (if we didn't have the baby we would have walked right out). We were there at 6:30 and they rushed us through our dinner. The restaurant was partially empty and we were in the far corner not bothering anyone. At 7:55, when they brought the change from the check they said that we could only sit for 5 more minutes because a party was coming at 8PM. No one had yet arrived for the party and they could have offered to let us sit at any of the other, many free tables. My son has been to many restaurants in his short life and he is always made to feel cute and special. He was well-behaved at Tiny Thai, sat in his stroller ate his Cheerios and food. In fact, he even liked the rice noodles from the restaurant, too bad he will never have them again. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant in New York City. Thumbs down, way down!!!
