03/25/2007 - Sue Persalid
I have always loved Simone. The whole atmosphere, the gogeous decor, the menu, and the great espresso. I live in the neighborhood so I'd even stop in for coffee to go just because it was so good. Unfortunately they just lost me as a customer.
I stopped with a friend after a show at nearby PS122 to get a late dinner. When I asked for tea with my dinner I was told that they did not serve tea at night. I asked why and I was told "for business reasons." Um, I was about to give you three bucks for something that costs you a nickle. If you think you'll sell more booze because you won't sell tea you're crazy. Either I'm drinking or I'm not. If you're concerned about people taking up tables just for tea and coffee then put a minnimum on the table. We were BUYING DINNER! It's just irritating and bad customer service to refuse to serve tea to a customer. Whatever manager made that decision should be fired.
