Good food, good service

I came to learn that McCormick's is best known as the home of the "Pookie Burger." Now that may sound like a silly name, but it a very serious hamburger of mammoth dimensions. In addition, the fried potatoes and onions are a house treat. For those with a more discriminate taste, the friend catfish is delicious. I love making the trek from Tulsa to historic Boley, for the sheer joy of eating at this quaint little restaurant.

It's unfortunate that we can only give this restaurant a 5 star rating, -it deserves a 10!! We travel extensively and have never tasted food this incredible! If you are anywhere in central Oklahoma, it's well worth going out of your way to sample some of Pookie's cookin'! As for price, I laughed when I was told the price, I thought they were kidding! You can't get a value meal at McDonald's for this cheap! Even though we were more than full, our mouths were watering when we left. Excellent food, outstanding hospitality, excellent price! Can't wait to get back. Thanks Pookie!

On the highway as you enter the town of Boley you will find McCormick's Grill better known to those who live near-by as "Pookies". It is a quaint, nostalgic little restaurant with family and celebrity pictures filling one wall; Red Foxx, Flip Wilson, Sammy Davis Jr., Mu hammed Ali, and "Little" Richard Pennington are among those noticeable to me. The menu is rather simple, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, hot links, chicken and ribs. My first trip I ordered a cheeseburger and potatoes and onions. It was so amazing, I drove down to day to take my son for the same. Unfortunately, due to the Boley Rodeo they had run out of potatoes and onions - so I settled for greens and yams - delicious. The cost was even more amazing - it was actually affordable. If you enjoy soul food or what my mom used to call "southern cooking" you'll enjoy your trip to Pookies. .
