It was by far the best Italian restaurant in Philadelphia. Even the school of culinary arts said that chef Gregorio Martini was the best Italian chef in the city of Philadelphia. He created more unique Italian dishes than most chefs. Diane Allen, Larry Kane, wee Willy Weber, Al Alberts were just a few I saw eating in there. And to top it off, had one of the greatest opera singers that sounded like Mario Lonza there on Saturday nights. He’d often do the phantom of the opera there with the mask cape candles and sing the songs perfectly. It was a small mom and pop Italian restaurant but nothing could compare to it when it was open. Everything was made from scratch. Including the Italian breads every day. The man was a magician in the kitchen. If you ever are there you knew. If you didn’t, you missed out on the best Italian meal the city had to offer.
