Having grown up in the Philly area with a sub shop on every corner and strip shopping center there and in south Jersey, I am a sub snob. I moved to WPA 40 years ago and found the so-called subs disappointing and just plain bad. "Steak sandwiches" made with hamburger meat? Disgusting, but accepted and the standard just about everywhere. Finally, Simply Subs came to the rescue. Their Italian subs are excellent, as are their steak sandwiches. Finally someone understands that hamburger cannot substitute for real grilled chopped steak, plus the importance of high quality rolls.
