Tamahli, a local favorite that opened in my area about seven years ago, garnered a reputation for its delicious tamales, although I never had the chance to try them myself. Recently, I discovered their brick-and-mortar site where I was able to place an order for their banana leaf Holy Moley and Poblano tamales. The experience of picking up my order at their unassuming warehouse-style building was a bit different, but the tamales themselves were indeed flavorful and reminiscent of authentic Mexico City tamales. Despite the slightly higher price point, I would highly recommend giving Tamahli a try for a taste of genuine Mexican tamales right here in San Antonio.
