I'm from Great Britain originally and have eaten a many Indian Restaurants there, including in Birmingham the Mecca of Indian food outside of India. My first few experiences of Indian food in the US were not good, bland lunch buffets and mediocre strip mall establishments.
However, Royal India's changed my opinion of US Indian food altogether, and is up there with the best Indian food I've ever had. The curry's are fragrant and delicious while the service is simply excellent and the ambiance is awesome - with occasion. The Lamb Makanwalla is one of the best things I've ever eaten and nothing on the menu has ever disappointed.
A few things are different from your typical UK Indian restaurant, but overall any curry fan shouldn't be disappointed!
