Why in the world would someone come to a Chicago hot dog joint and opt for a mushroom swiss burger instead? Sluggers operates almost every day during baseball season and has limited hours off-season, offering authentic Chicago-style hot dogs and thicker, albeit softer, Chicago-style fries. The staff is friendly, the service is excellent, and while the location may not be the best, it's not as rough as some other areas in town. All in all, Sluggers may not be a Portillo's, but it's a solid choice for hot dog lovers.
