Worst service I have every experienced, both times, unfortunately, I gave this place a second chance. The food was OK but its hard to enjoy it cold as it took 30 minutes to get my wife's dinner after mine and I waited for her. I will not be returning and will tell all my friends to save their money its waisted on the blue heron.

Our family will not be returning to the Blue Heron Restaurant in Clemson, SC.
For upstairs dining, I've had 3 entree specials at over $20. ea. and only one was very good, the Tuna...the other two were just plain, very bland. One special was $50. I even asked the waiter (who had no personality for the position), if the chef could add an extra herb, and it seemed my request was just ignored... The upstairs decor isn't appealing nor is the cheap serve-ware. The flatware and serve-ware are so cheap compared to the price of the entrees. They are of fast food restaurant typicality. They don't even use the proper condiment dishes to accompany the sushi orders...My chair felt like it was going to fall a apart and the table was uneven...I would have liked to have seen a fresh flower on the table instead of a cheap votive and cheap salt & pepper shakers.
For the bar, I just can not return after seeing 2 bartenders sneeze behind the counter...A male bartender sneezed and washed his hands, another female bartender moments later sneezed, blew her nose in a tissue and walked away without washing her hands! The thought of her even serving me a drink and touching my glass was the end for me...I would think they both should have exited from behind the bar to the hallway.
The wait staff is nice however; it's poorly managed.... The manager/owner has a bad reputation in the neighborhood. He is petty, drills his staff, and shallow - he doesn't give the customer the time of day...The staff seems so stressed out, sweating and running around in a hurry, always. Doesn't make for a relaxed atmosphere at all. The upstairs has a section that is very loud.
So, even though we started going to celebrate family occasions and the food is very good some of the times, along with the service of some of the staff, it is too inconsistent and the other factors too many...we do not suggest this place for others, will not send referrals and won't be going there again. Has great potential but poorly managed.
