The scenic drive through the Texas Hill Country adds to the experience, making it worthwhile to visit despite its remote location and occasional weekend crowds.

Arrived at Mac & Ernie's in Tarpley, Texas after a scenic 75-minute drive from San Antonio. The restaurant's larger building was a pleasant surprise, set amidst the rolling Texas hills. Despite missing out on the ancho chili quail, the red deer burger with blue cheese and balsamic glazed onions was a flavorful delight, making the journey well worth it!
