I discovered an exceptional restaurant that offers a diverse menu featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for any occasion. Their attentive service and flavorful dishes truly enhance the dining experience.

So, Velvet Taco is not a place you go to eat heartily. Not at $5-6+ dollars a taco / menu item. Three tacos and two nachos were almost $40 with tax and tip. I get the vibe this place wants to have and its a cool concept with unique style. But its way over priced for the amount of food you actually get. Their menu and webpage should list small plates to give proper expectations. Not having visited this place, my spouse and I were exceptionally disappointed in what we got. We can get food at other "taco" or "Mexican" places that tastes better and actually gives a good amount of food in comparison.
Of the three things my spouse and I tried, we liked the Barbacoa Brisket Nachos best. The flavors were decent and the chips were good; not to hard, not to soft. But back to portions, we had way more chips than we had toppings or queso so eventually it was just chips.
Taco wise we tried the Grilled Flank Steak and Mexi-Cali Shrimp. The Flank Steak taco was insanely dry and had minimal flavor. We mostly tasted the corn tortilla and what little sauce there was on it. The Mexi-Cali Shrimp taco was a bit better as it was a soft flour tortilla and had a little more to it so it was a better balance.
Overall though we will not be going back. Not for the cost to food ratio. This might be a place one of us might go with friends to have a drink and snack, but it is in no way a place you go get a filling meal.
