After our first night at the hotel, my wife and I (early fifties) we went to the Regency Room to have a good breakfast before a busy day in Colonial Williamsburg. After being seated by the hostess we waited for 20 minutes before somebody came by with regular coffee. There were only four other occupied tables and seven people working. Customers seemed to get their food and enjoy it. We never even got a menu. By the time we were able to order, we decided to skip the food (based on our experience, it might have taken anywhere from one to two hours). We ordered one espresso (good) and a cappuccino (good). Funny thing is they brought a beautiful tub of what seemed to be perfectly chilled butter. The table setting was in really good taste, classy but not flashy.
We had planned on having dinner there, but decided to skip it and had it instead at a wonderful joint frequented by students in the modern part of town. But that is a different story...
