The food was so good! I got the veggie plate with fried okra, yams, mashed potatoes, and mac n cheese. Everything was delicious and flavored just right! Everytime I come to Myrtle Beach I will make a stop here!

Just found out about this restaurant in April 2023 and have eaten there at least 7 times todays date is only May 19, and 2023! Great southern cuisine I have tried most of the items on the menu everything has been very good for myself and two others that I brought with me!

Big mike's has the best soul food, fried pork chops ( 1 my favorite,with spicy shrimp.....
we eat there regular@ the staff are always nice,@ best homemade banana pudding..

just left myrtle beach today. Stoped in on big mikes on my yearly spring break. I just want to say that just because you are black. Doesn't mean you can cook soul food. I've eaten all over the world and big mike don't have no soul. No stove with greens cooking. His. specialty, no turkey necks, no ham hocks no seasoning in them. Just a big cooler with bags of collards sitting in it waiting to be steamed. My 13 year old cooks better than that. And i know my wife and myself. Could put big mike out of business any day. And by the way did i tell you we are black also. O by the way rice is not supposed to be crunchy.corn bread can be with some cracklin in it. so if you've eaten there and you liked it. you don't know real soul food. And his waitress backed me on this. No name though.

Great place; great food; great people. Cateted to locals as well as tourists. Collards were kicking!!! Great bargain for the price. Will most certainly get a repeat visit!
