We asked specifically about non dairy at the hostess table. We should have known to avoid this place by the response! The lady did not understand what we had asked and turned to another person who said "We can cook anything how you like it"
A waiter came over to the hostess to ask what our question was. We told him that we wanted to make sure that the restaurant could provide non-dairy options. He asked us if there was any particular item on the menu. I told him that my wife and I liked the fish and chips. He went off to the chef and came back stating that the fish does have dairy, he was not sure about the chips!!. We eventually sat down as a group of 4. The same waiter came over to ask for our drinks, which we ordered. When he came back to ask about our food order he looked rather sheepish and said that they might not have fish and chips, since they have been serving a lot of them over the summer months and they might have run out! This was October 19th???? A long time since the summer.
The waiter went back to check and came back saying, "sorry we are out of fish and chips".
My wife ended up ordering a plain burger, no bun.
I ordered a burger no cheese.
The food came 45 minutes later.
My wife had a burger on a bun?????
My burger had melted cheese?????
The waiter was not going to say anything to us. He put the food in front of us and asked was there anything else we needed. We mentioned about the bun on my wife's order and he stated. "Oh, it will be ok"
We pointed out the cheese on my burger and the waiter said "The chef went ahead and put cheese on"
Absolutely useless service and food preparation.
The reason they put the cheese on my burger was due to them burning it. When I turned the burger over he bottom was black and hard.......
Obviously we complained to the manager, who said that the bill had already been discounted due to our son being in the military. The total discount was $11 on a $150 bill.
My complaint is about the overall lack of service. Doubtful knowledge of non-dairy regulations and options. Management lacking any customer relations.
My recommendation is not to use this restaurant if you are expecting quality.
