They have been number one in this area for years . They will be missed . If you want a chicken fried steak it's worth the drive to Farnam . It's yummy !!!

Whenever I visit my parents I take them out for lunch and I always say,"How about Walkers?" We love the food and the pies are the best!!! If we do not eat the pies there we take them home. Wonderful selections and and every dish is filling.

While traveling across country a couple of years ago I stopped in Gothenburg for the night. I was famished after a long day on the road and in dire need of a bed and a good solid meal. Not being too familiar with the area I asked the hotel desk clerk to recommend someplace to get a steak and a beer. She mentioned Walker's on Rt 30. It didn't look like much from the outside, but there was a bunch of cars outside and it appeared that they did a pretty good business. In my experience, that's a good sign. Inside, the decor was typical family restaurant. I was seated and checked out the menu. The prices seemed pretty reasonable. I ordered a prime rib, baked potato, and a salad, with a beer for a beverage. When the prime rib arrived it was huge! it completely covered the plate. That prime rib was absolutely the best I've had, before or since. It was so tender you could cut it with a fork and the taste was superb. In all, I have to rate this place as top-notch. The service is very good, the food is fantastic, and the whole bill for this great meal came to under $25 (in 2004). I will definitely stop here next I'm I'm in the area.
