I was excited to try the Wahoo bakery now called the Confectionist. Being of Czech descent I couldn't wait to try the kolaches. I bought a dozen and a half and when I looked at the apricot it looked like a neon orange gel filling. With doubts about its looks, I decided to try it. It was an absolutely disgusting. I learned later that they use pre-filled tubes that are most likely filled with so many preservatives that it made my stomach turn. I went home and scraped out the glowing gel and replaced it with apricot jelly. Much better. The dough was great, nice and fluffy. Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy these kolaches. I'll just stick to making my own. Just a note to the bakery.. lovely bakery, just ditch the glowing gel.
