Just plain GOOD !! There are no surprises, the food is always exactly the same. Would be hard to say what is better, the staff or the food, both are great. This restaurant could very well be rated a "Six Star", they are just that good. :D

First time today Sept.20th 2023. I had the large seafood platter and my husband had the clams with Haddock. Now my husband is very hard to please when it comes to fish, it has to be fresh off the boat for him. We are originally from Yarmouth NS and we know when seafood is fresh. My husband said that was the best fish and chips he ever had. The place was packed and our order was taken as soon as we sat down. We only waited about 15 to 20 min. for our food. I think my husband's fish was a whole Haddock. He had to bring it home and ate the clams there. My only disappointment was the crinkle cut fries. Anything but crinkle cuts would be better. But there was so much on my plate, I didn't eat them anyway. We will be back. And oh the waitress was very nice. I left her a 15.00 tip. I'm not usually that generous, but it deserved a good tip.

It was great in past years. I went back to New Brunswick this summer. It took almost two hours for our meals. Others were served before us that arrived after us. I’ve told people how great this place was in the past. I’m going to tell people how horrible an experience it was this past august. I won’t go back.

We were home from Ontario for the first time in years. Always loved Birches and go everytime we are back. I was saddened to hear the new Kitchen Manager being so harsh to other employees as we witnessed this with our own eyes and pointed this out to another staff member who told us in her words "things have been hard here with a certain new person in charge".
Our food was terrible, with the exception of my husband's fish and chips and we found many hairs in our poutine that I believe were put there on purpose after our complaint.
I feel very sorry for the staff whom we know well. I hope managers are made aware of a certain individual treating other employees like dirt beneath their feet.
We will not be back to our favorite spot in St. George unless major changes are made.

Best friend chicken in NB. Also liked my lobster roll. I was surprised they could do both so well.

This is one busy spot! Great meals here and the large seafood platter will take a friend to finish it! Lovely little family restaurant right off the highway. Call ahead to ensure you get a table and don't forget the homemade pie!
