I had been going to Carmine's for years. The food and customer service was always top notch until the most recent months. It appears that the restaurant is under new management. Antonio, my favorite person there, retired and then died, according to the new worker at the restaurant.

On August 13, 2021, I called in an order to go. I had to wait a few minutes for the food to come out of the kitchen. When I got home with the food, the bread was days old. It was so hard, you could bang it on the table and get knocking sounds. I called Carmine's to inform them of my findings. There was no resolution over the phone. I decided to take the bread back the very next day. I put the bread in a plastic bag to preserve what ever freshness that was left.

I approach the server (Owner?) about the situation and he just kept saying I don't know anything about Italian bread. Mine you I have eaten there numerous times before. He never offered me more bread and said, "OK good bye and don't come back".

I don't think if I was a white women logging a complaint that I would have been met with such a discriminatory reaction. I said, to him to please repeat what you said, and he replied, Yes, I said don't come back.

I left the restaurant in disbelief. About a month ago, another friend and myself went to Carmine's. We did note that the customer service was not the same, as the way we were treated. I have many friends who go to Carmine's and I am spreading the word about the treatment toward African Americans with this new management.

best Italian sauce food is out of this world i have eaten there over 40 times never i mean never have gotten a bad meal the portions are large and the bread with your meals is the best
