Auroras Diner; A sweet treat on a desolate road.
Auroras is a diner nestled on the end of Aurora street next to an old community truck stop. It only reaches the length of a school bus and is relatively thin with warbled old smoke stacks coming from the top, it may looks relatively underwhelming but don’t let it’s looks fool you for it has some of the best breakfast food in town only comparable with Leo’s. To start off the entire interior gives this warm homey feeling with light streaming in through the sides of windows and rough and bumpy booths the leather cracked and peeling giving it a worn persona. The staff there is incredibly kind and has always managed to deliver food quickly and correctly never missing the smallest details in a customers order whether it be poached instead of scrambled eggs or less dill in their omelet. The real attraction of the restaurant though is it’s chicken and waffles, served on a beautiful white platter it comes with one enormous glistening Belgian waffle, the sides a golden brown and the middle a flaky yellow with a melt in your mouth taste as a crunch rings in your ears and next comes the chicken best served hot with syrup. It caramelizes on the crust with a warm sweet simmer and the juice filled tender explodes with flavor in your mouth as a mild tang and spice lifts the experience to your brain. This delicious dish combined with its humble yet sturdy appearance allows me to rate this restaurant 4 hot chicken wings out of 5 Belgian waffles.
