The service at Cuba Bakery has not been the same since it was sold to the new owner. In overall the staff member(s) was not considerate nor accommodating of my time. I place an order to be picked up at a specific time. However, not only it was NOT ready for the time, I was asked to wait for a few minutes that turned out to be 15 minutes later. My order was being put together a half hour after the indicated specified time.
NOTE: When I got to the counter to pay the lady was going to charge me full price, despite the fact that I left a deposit. She DID NOT even bother to look in the receipt books for the pending orders that needed to be picked up for that day. Should have known something was wrong.

The handling of the food products was less than up to par. The staff handled some of the food without using the proper equipment, they used their bare hands to interchange food from one tray to another. Yes I said bare hands, NO gloves.

Upon seeing what I saw, I inquired about the handling of food that I saw was my order I could not believe what I have just witnessed. Again the transfer of food with NO GLOVES. It took me to say something to the lady for her to tell her staff. Than I observed another staff member wearing gloves prepare my platter.
First of all I asked for a discount and/or more items for making me wait as the food was not ready for pick up at the designated time. It took for me to get there and advised them that I was there to pick up a tray of their products for them to start to put it together. Than she wanted to give an excuse as to the reason it was not ready. Can you imagine telling your boss why your job is not ready for submission. I believe I as a consumer have a legitimate complaint. Half hour after the designated time that was recorded on the receipt I am leaving said establishment. Secondly you would think she would give me a discount after what I had just witness, the handling of food.

Upon requesting to speak with the owner a female identified herself as the owner's daughter who by the way she stated to me that SHE COULD NOT give me a discount. When I asked that I should have been given additional items since she was not going to give me a discount SHE IGNORED ME. Please note that when I asked for her father whom she said was the owner her response was that her father was at home.
With that being said I will NOT be doing any more business with them. Also this makes me wonder how many times has this happened to anyone else, meaning you request an order be ready for a certain time and it is not, five minutes yes maybe, but a half hour. Time is precious and I did have other obligations.
Additionally how many times in the past or that same day did someone ordered food that was either prepared in front of you or especially in the back that we don't know if they are touching the foods without the proper equipment, use of gloves.
