The breakfast sandwiches here are absolutely delicious, and I've been a loyal customer for over two decades. The friendly staff always make you feel right at home, and the menu offers a wide variety of tasty options to choose from.

I moved to Scotch Plains in 1980 on Westfield Avenue, walking distance to The Highlander on Park Avenue. I left Scotch Plains for retirement in Florida in 2003. With that said: There are a few things I miss terribly. Two are New York City and The Highlander. I can't find a breakfast and lunch place as good. When I first visited it was owned by an old guy. The helper, Marco, eventually bought the restaurant. I worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone ( Verizon) and every morning I left the garage and had breakfast at The Highlander. If I was in the area I'd have lunch there too. We were last in Scotch Plains in 2018 and stopped for lunch and to see Marco. I don't know if he's retired since but we will stop again next trip. Great guy, great food.
