Restaurant Description

The Barn with Eli as the boss has been elevated to a terrific family restaurant, and there's loads of choices that are delicious...Burgers, chicken, ribs and terrific fresh salads, and special soups too, like Italian Wedding Soup...It is a gem. Full bar, great desserts, such as chocolate brownies with ice cream WOW...it is worth a trip and prices are very reasonable

I once lived across the street & frequented the Barn very often. The menu was simple, the burgers great, the fries homemade & exceptional. The outside was tar paper, a light hung on a tree to let you know it was there, pot belly stoves provided the heat in the winter, the tables were for carving your initials & board games were the entertainment. It had atmosphere unlike anywhere else. Today there is no atmosphere, lots of plexiglass, just a family joint with kids, the pot belly stoves display NY Giant memorabilia as if we care, the wait staff have an attitude, the french fries are greasy & moist, the hamburgers are just fair, the rolls are disgusting. I'm so sorry I went back.

Great local restaurant! Best Ribs in Bergen county.

The Barn is a classic. It is a big personality with a warm small town charm. The service is always friendly. The food is great. There are some specials that we always look forward to. The owner is always willing to accommodate. We have been going there since the 70's and still look forward to going. If you haven't been there yet you must give it a try!

The Barn is a restaurant my husband and I enjoy. Eli and the staff are always friendly , gracous and accomodating. We have enjoyed the burgers, salads and ribs, and have also taken our grandchildren to dine there. Eli is terrific with all the children, and sponsors wothwhile charitable organizations for children as well.

We moved to the area 4 years ago. Found the Barn and love it. The staff is friendly and prompt.

The Barn burger and Barn chicken sandwich are very good.

I was not 21 in the 50's so I can't say how it was 50 or even 25 years ago. I really don't care.

Today we love this place and bring the family and grand kids any chance we get.

We used to love the BARN and recommend it to everyone. However after our experience last night we will NEVER go back there. WE had reservations for 10 one person was sick and did not come. In the middle of dinner the OWNER came over and asked who made the reservation, he came down to me and proceeded to yell at me for not giving him the correct head count, and that I was causing a wait. I was mortified, I wanted to crawl under the table.I truly hope he goes out of business

Great kid freindly place where few exist. Food is good, not the reason you love a place like this. Staff/owner becomes family. Parents need that. Can't imagine offering a review that is based on food alone which is delicious. The real star is the feeling that lacks usual business. If you have children and need a regular place to feel human the barn is the place. My family loves the Barn!

One of the most friendly family restaurants in New Jersey. The owner Ely is always gracious and helpful the rest of the service staff is very friendly and attentive. The Turkey Berger sublime, the ribs melt off the bone and are excellent and the "Barn Salad" is the best I have ever had. The balance of the menu is lite fare and cooked to order. The fries and home made potato chips are not greasy, sweet potato fires are also available. An extensive beer and wine choice is also available. We go to "The Barn' with friends once a week. "The Barn" is an excellent value for good food, great service and an 100+ year old establishment with character.

Used to be great years ago in the 50's that I remember. They always had the greatest burgers and remember they had the longest frenchfries I'd ever seen.Looked at other reviews & it must be that people never saw the great days of THE Barn. You shouldn't have changed success !Would not return ! Sorry .

The Barn in Wyckoff
This used to be a great and unique place to go for a beer, a burger and to meet friends..Bob W’s steak sandwich and his in-house trimmed rib-eye steaks were worth the long trip and although somewhat hidden from the street, its local charm, character and good eats drew people from all over the area..

Now the new owner has reduced the once unique ambiance, good food and meeting place to a meer shell of what it once was. As soon as you open the front door you are greeted by a cheap looking suit of armour and the once hand carved tables are now protected from any new carvings by pieces of plastic..A suit of armour in a barn that was built in 1779? What the...Where am I?.. Little kids are everywhere creating havoc and disturbing whatever tranquility you had hoped to find at a restaurant..Even the wooden chairs have been replaced by mismatched wierdly colored vinyl diner seats..The burgers are now smothered by a way too large roll and the fries arent anywhere near as good as they used to be..Those excellent steaks have disappeared from the menu and replaced with what is billed as the "best ribs in New Jersey"..Someone should tell the owner that a good rib isnt one that is boiled then finished off in the oven..We will never go back there again ..It’s a shame that the new owner doesn’t seem to have a clue as to what the words rustic, ambiance, and good food means...

The barn is wonderful! It's personal and you feel at home! Love the Ribs!! Food is prepared fresh so even a simple salad tastes crisp and flavorful. The building is over 200 years old=cool

Back in the day this place was incredible. Many a great evening spent there. Unbelievable Steak Sandwich on toast, so good you would eat 2. Great fries and beer battered onion rings. Then new management ruined it. They actually dropped the steak sandwich for salads. What an outrage for this former speak easy. After going 2-3 times a month for years I never set foot in the place again. I still miss those steak sandwiches and am mad enough about it years later to still write this.
