Been going to Arena since moving to NJ in '93, I'm only giving two stars because the people that work there are very nice and accommodating but sad to say the quality of the food has really gone downhill! Portions are big but not worth yet another disappointing visit. Not many "good quality" diners left in Bergen County anymore!

The Arena Diner is getting really bad. Stopped in one morning for breakfast. The waitress at the counter who took the order wreaked of cigarette smoke and apparently was very bothered to be there. I ordered scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and coffee. Saying little, she took the menu and brought the order back into the kitchen. It was a little busy, but this order took over half an hour. I even asked what was taking so long, and the waitress blamed it on the cook. When I got the order, the pancakes were alright, but the eggs had little pieces of shell in them, the bacon was rubbery and the coffee tasted bad with white particles floating on top. Next time I want to eat around here, I'll try the new diner that re-opened just up the road in Hackensack near Maywood.
