I have gone to this restaurant to eat before with my wife and the food is good. However, today, i tried making a reservation for a party of 7 people and was told that they only have two seatings, 6 or 8pm. What kind of restaurant does that? I though about taking some friends to this place but i guess not.

Love this place, its a small, nice/elegant restaurant. The food is excellent, genuine Cuban food. The chef/owner cares about his customers takes his time to get to know most of them when able to, pleasant relaxing atmosphere. totally recommend this place.

We decided to try this restaurant on the advice of my coworker. When we came in the place was empty and freezing, I asked the waiter to turn up the heat, but he replied there is a draft and the owner is going to install a door soon, no help there as we were freezing still! The salad was good as were the calamari. The talapia dish horrible fried and had no flavor at all! We will not be back!

This is not only the best Cuban food I've ever had, but arguably some of the best food period.
My husband and I have been to Casual Habana several times and have never been disappointed.
The owner is very gracious and walks around to all the tables to make sure everyone is happy with the food. The mahi mahi is out of this world. We will return to Casual Habana again and again!

I ate lunch there today with my pregnant wife, who whenever we eat out during this pregnancy she complains about this or that, but not this time. They had a lunch buffet that included a salad bar (very fresh selection), soups, sweet plantains, chickens, steak, rice & beans, and delicious corn just to name a few. I usually dislike buffet food due to lack of quality or improper preparation, but Casual Habana far surpassed my wife and I expectations and I plan to tell all my friends and family about the only place probably in Bergen county you can get a $8.00 buffet that's worth 3 to 4 times that. All there is left to say is make sure you go hungry because even if you order something off the menu the portions are huge!!!

The food and the service is great. The food is very good. We go once a moth and I highly recommend it. Ropa Vieja is the best.

The food and service here are very inconsistent. I agree that the sweet plantains taste like they are frozen. I have been a fan of this place in the past, but I'm just not impressed anymore. The mofongo is sometimes ok, and others...not so good. The Ropa Vieja or Lechon a la Patria are usually a safe bet. The Tilapia Apanada en Platano sounded delicious...it was disgusting. If you're looking for great, authentic cuban food, I'd look elsewhere. This place has lost its luster.

I don't know who are the Cubans that like the food at this place, I was there and tried the tasajo, big mistake, my girl had the mofongo which is a Dominican dish, I could not believe the sauce on the mofongo was salad dressing, the sweet plantains definitely frozen. If you are a Cuban or someone who likes Cuban food you'll be disappointed

I did not like this place, the black bean rice was hard, no taste to it. The Palomia was ok, the onions were not sauteed with the steak, they just cut it up and threw it on top of th steak. The portions were small and the service was ok. I have eaten in much better places then this. OK for cuban sandwiches, but that is about it. obvisouly there are a lot of people who REALLY dont know what good Hispanic food is.....sorry -- NOT RECOMMENDED

This is an honest place. The food is great, exactly what it should be without pretence. The chef really understands true Cuban food. The staff is helpfull and Benny the owner chef is always vigilant to ensure a great experience.

I love this place, the food is amazing. The soups are outragious. Very friendly atmosphere and Benny is great. I have told so many of my friends, family and coworkers about this place. I have eaten my way through every item on the menu!! Very reasonablely priced.

I am Cuban and would not eat anywhere the food isn't as good as mine....that said, I come to eat here ALOT!!! I have turned so many family and friends on to the place. Benny, the chef, always comes out to greet his customers and is extremely friendly. The portions are big and the prices are small. Make reservations on the weekend since it's small and gets busy. BYOB makes this a perfect place to have a great evening on a budget!
