My family and I had a wonderful dinner experience at Cavalino's. The beef short rib special, white fish with lemon sauce, Seafood Cavalino, lava cake, and tortuga were all absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and provided great suggestions, making us feel welcomed and eager to return during our short stay in Guttenberg.

$12.75 early-bird, 4 - 6 p.m. can't be beat: Hot bread and water starts with tablecloths and cloth napkins; choice of chicken or pea soup. Chicken soup was excellent: hot and loaded with fresh vegetables and pieces of chicken; followed by salad: greens and tomatoes, crispy and fresh dressed with a vinaigrette; entrées included a choice of: a New York steak or several fresh fish, or shrimp or chicken or pasta dishes. Depending upon the choice of entrée, the main course was served either with a side of pasta or with roasted potatoes and some fresh vegetables. We had the steak and filet of fish. Fish was very fresh and not over-cooked; steak was grilled to perfection, medium rare as ordered. No substitutions are permitted. Dessert was a choice between either New York style cheese cake or tiramisu, both of which were very good. A small glass of house wine was also included! Street parking may be tight, but meters only need be paid until 6 p.m. Service was efficient, professional, personal, and friendly. In summary: very good food and service and excellent value!
