The carrot cake was delicious! I bought 2 pieces and kept them in the olastic container drom the bakery and 4 days later they were still moist. Bought a whole cake the next time I went. A little expensive but I'd rather buy something a little more costly and love it then pay less and not like it or throw it out.

Prices are ridiculous high. from now on, I will go to carousel bakery where you don’t need a home equity loan to shop there.

I've been going to Dixie Lee for 57 yrs. Everything was always made with perfection. I recently went to purchase my usual favorites and was so disappointed. The shelves were empty, no small apple turnovers they are selling these tiny frozen and baked apple squares. Looks like supermarket stuff. Also I bought donuts they were so flat and greasy!! Not to mention everything is so expensive 😪 Best of luck David Burke! I don't see this working out for you but what do I know 🤷‍♀️

Preordered my bakery order and ended up having to wait for over an hour to get it. Coconut buns and cupcakes were already getting stale. Chocolate cream pie was more whipped cream then chocolate. On top of that ended up missing things from my order. Very disappointed I the baked goods as well
As how everything is so very expensive for quality received.
Lost money since don’t live in area to return to get reimbursed/ pick up missing items. Not the same as when I was growing up and visiting the bakery for all the goodies

My two favorites are the Boston cream and crumb buns. No one makes them as delicious, and the filling is over the top! I moved from Hazlet to Eatontown and always stop by monthly for some goodies. 😋

Proud ‘Jersey Girl’ visiting for few months. Thank you David Burke for resurrecting the ICONIC DIXIE LEE BAKERY- 85 years young. As a young girl in Saint Ann’s school, I can still taste the delicious coconut buns, crumb buns , raisin buns and the famous ‘BLACK AND WHITES’ provided for breakfast to us after First Friday mass. Everyone more or less moved to other towns and states but when visiting , Dixie Lee is a must! There are more choices now, the key lime pie is ‘to die for’ , the hard rolls are the best ever snd again- thank you David Burke. We appreciate you and our beloved bakery!

Please continue to make tea biscuits, I drive 40 miles to get them. Would be great if you made them during the week instead of just week ends.

Prices are crazy high ‘ opened only four day’s a week. Does not have one half of all the older goodies. SNAP OUT OF IT!!!!

Was in the area on a Friday so I decided to give this place another shot. Clean bakery, with a beautiful and abundant assortment of items. However, stopped in on a Friday and bought a fruit danish that was so-so. I ended up tossing out the last few pieces on Sunday because no one in my house was interested in finishing them. Cupcakes were DRY and the cookies were nothing special. Spent $30 and nothing was really worth the cost. . Ppl working behind counter are NOT the most friendly and barely give you time to decide what you want... you feel pressured and rushed. I won’t be going back... I have a locally bakery that I’ve never been dissatisfied with.

Just not the same. We moved in the area about 34 years ago and the bakery was excellent. Even the cannoli do not taste right any more. The new owners changed recipes and the place is not the same, nor are the bakery products. Too expensive as well and now they close so darn early it is unbelieveable and this was before the pandemic.

I've been buying from this bakery since 1975 The new owners have changed the recipes and now their baked products are awful I purchased brownies and streusel both were stale and and dry, the brownies seemed almost out of a box recipe, just terrible!
they have lost their way and I hope by reading these bad reviews they change back to the original recipes from the prior owner or at least sell the bakery to someone that cares enough to produce a high quality baked product.

LOOKING AROUND AT ALL THE GOODIES ASKED FOR A CRUMB BUN THE OLD BAG BEHIND THE COUNTER HAD SOMETHING IN HER EYE WAS RUBBING HER EYE LOOKED AT HER FINGER TO SEE WHAT IT WAS AND THAN GAVE ME A CRUMB BUN .. WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS .. NEVER WOULD I EVER GO BACK IN THAT SO CALLED BAKERY EVER AGAIN EVEN IF IT WAS FREE I WOULD PASS .. YES WE NEED AN OLD FASHION BAKERY IN KEANSBURGS LIKE REALLY DIXIE LEE RIDE ON OUT ....AND YOUR PRICES ARE CRAZY TOO MUCH MONEY

Are there new owners? This establishment was awesome growing up in the area, however I'm very disappointed. The last, 3 visits, spent a small fortune there and everything was stale. I let it go the first time, it was back in september, picked up a cake for my moms birthday. It was awful . Previously frozen and stale. Then craving the worlds best brownies, stopped in again. Stale actually still slightly frozen., and yesterday for easter bought tons of stuff, all aweful crumb buns hard, italian pasteries tasted like cheap whipped topping, horseshoe buns hard, was embarassed serving them to my guests, sorry I wont be back.
