I wondered off the wine trail and ran into this u-pick apple orchard. The orchard was beautiful and the staff was great it seemed to be a family owned and run business, it was not like the other orchards I have visited it's located on a hill however it's well worth the hike in the orchard because the scenery and orchard is just amazing. Then I found out that they make their own apples wines and beers from the orchard onsite as well, after thinking I would try a few I ended up trying them all and then tried their apple beers as well. The only thing I can say is that the wines and beers where as amazing as the orchard or maybe even more. I'm not sure I can even go back grape wines now. I also had a chance to meet the winemaker it was amazing how he could explain the wines as we tasted and he also explained the process and how he uses many old world and new world techniques to make these amazing apple wines and beers. If you ever get the chance look these guys up there are located a little south off the finger lakes wine trails however you won't regret the detour I know I didn't and I will be back and if your lucky you may run into the winemaker as well, there are also some nice micro-breweries located nearby as well.
