As a Dunkin’s customer (especially an App one) I expected more from this store, especially since there’s so little to do once an order is complete — to follow the instructions and communicate effectively with the customer. However, those working at this restaurant today were deficient at best.

I was waited on by Jessica who didn’t know what our specific orders had. There were two small online orders, mind you. She left out anything that wasn’t a drink. When I said that the order wasn’t done, she asked me what else was in the orders, in spite of having the receipt there with them to ascertain what to do when a customer is told that their App order is ready. Eventually, she informed me that one of the items was not available and seemed to feel better by pointing out that she gave me “extra munchkins” from an order I had placed. The munchkins I had purchased were jelly and blueberry. I only received blueberry ones. I pointed this out, when I went back to the store, but they didn’t care to help me with that.

The 2nd problem, and the most important one, was that related to a dairy allergy. They decided to make my order with regular milk, nonetheless. Unbeknownst to me, I didn’t know that since I had to bring my wife back to tend to her classes. She’s a teacher. So, it took me like 10 minutes to try that first sip. After that, I knew but I couldn’t get back to that specific store since I had to tend to the family, other online orders and taking my sister-in-law back to her house.

Well, when I got back to the store, Jessica proceeded to argue with me, questioning the fact that the large coffee was made with oat milk. I explained how fast the allergy hits me. She questioned that too. I said, I’ve come here every day for the past 3 weeks (more to other locations) and all I’ve ordered is the same drink with oat milk.

Brandon jumped in and said he could replace the order. But, upon looking at the receipt, he said it had been too late and he “couldn’t do that.” I asked to speak to a manager, he said the Ogdensburg store had
NO managers, that I had to take things up with the 800-number in the App Store. Then he asked me to move from the drive thru area since he had other customers to wait on, disregarding that I am a customer too, a highly dissatisfied one. He was dismissive and curt. He lacked customer service skills and could have used a course in how to listen to customers and perform better when they don’t like the feedback they receive.

Needless to say, I called the 800 number and was told that someone would contact me within 48 hours. They apologized profusely and we’re concerned that consistently, through our order experience, most of the staff (with the exception of a couple of people) has seemed completely unable to read the receipts, get things right or treat others with a modicum of courtesy and professionalism.

I won’t go back to the store. Beware and be extremely careful of what you order, if you do. That is why I am giving them this review.
