Fool me once ... fool me twice. We went shortly after the opening, drawn by the so-called "trendy" decor and "eclectic" menu. The wait for a server was lengthy and the food took even longer. My Old Fashioned came in a double-shot glass and the bartender admitted never having made one. The food was decent, but the wait was absurd. Fusion was clearly under-staffed. We vowed never to return. But, friends reported good experiences (note how many views are either 1 star or 5 on this site and Yelp). We went back again recently and immediately realized the weekend under-staffing wasn't an aberration, but rather standard. This time, though, the food was barely fair (burger and chicken wings, OK; chicken tenders sub-standard; Old Fashioned awful). In fairness, the staff is unfailingly friendly and as accommodating as it can be while dealing with under-staffing. I swear our server was a bartender, server and cook (on a Friday, no less). We overheard a server apologizing to two customers for the delay and -- I'm not making this up -- one of them said, with no sign of annoyance, "That's OK, we're used to it." Not exactly the prescription for generating new business.
Besides the ongoing staffing issues, Fusion's main problem is not knowing whether it wants to be a bar or a restaurant. I think it's the latter, but it has the ambience of a bar and the once-expansive menu has shrunk to one page of bar food. We're not going back, which is sad because our desire was for Fusion to succeed.

Service was very good as were the vegetable wontons and salad. But calamari was unavailable and the Satay was well below average, especially the peanut sauce which had absolutely no flavor or bite. Broiled fish was good but had to ask for tartar sauce. My old fashioned was good, but the tiniest I’ve ever had ... basically served in a double shot glass. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but there’s absolutely no reason to go back.
